Position Summary
Owns post-harvest production: harvest, dry, cure, buck, trim, package, and fulfill. Accountable for converting ~200 lb. dry/week of biomass into finished flower SKUs and feedstock for manufacturing on time, in spec, and at cost. Manages Harvest, Packaging, and Fulfillment Supervisors. (Note: per restructure recommendation, Compliance and Maintenance now report directly to the Operations Senior Director rather than this role.)Key Responsibilities
- Implement company SOPs. Coordinate with SDR Ops on process efficiency and workflow optimization.
- Plan and direct weekly harvest, dry, cure, trim, and packaging workflows to meet a perpetual one-room-per-week cadence
- Coordinate fresh frozen split (up to 30% of harvest weight) with Manufacturing Manager and Cultivation Manager
- Set production targets and KPIs (throughput, trim yield %, packaging defects per lot, on-time fulfillment)
- Manage post-processing P&L including labor, packaging materials, and consumables
- Hire, develop, and performance-manage Harvest, Packaging, and Fulfillment Supervisors
- Partner with Compliance Supervisor on lot tracking, sampling for state-required testing, and any holds or recalls
- Drive process improvement: reduce trim cycle time, improve flower grading consistency, lower packaging cost per unit
- Maintain a clean, GMP-aligned production environment across all post-processing spaces
- Report production metrics weekly to Operations Senior Director
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in regulated cannabis post-harvest/production, including 2+ years managing supervisors
- Hands-on experience with full post-harvest workflow: cut, hang, dry, cure, buck, trim (hand and machine), package
- Proven ability to run production at 150+ lb dry/week scale
- Strong understanding of cannabis seed-to-sale tracking and lot/batch management
- Working knowledge of state cannabis labeling and packaging rules
- Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Must pass Kentucky cannabis agent background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience standing up post-processing operations at a new facility
- Lean/Six Sigma exposure
- Familiarity with KY medical cannabis program regulations
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Mixed office and production floor environment
- Frequent walking and standing; occasional lifting up to 50 lb.
- Exposure to strong cannabis aroma; some PPE required on production floor
- Some evening/weekend work during peak harvest weeks
